My Story
I love being outside in nature!
one of my favorite places, Crested Butte Colorado celebrating my birthday!
Early in my career, I studied Mechanical Engineering and Architecture. I worked as an Architectural Designer for 7 years. Then I pivoted to Marketing/Event Planning in Post-Secondary Ed. Finally I landed back in school again (which I said I would never do!) and studied to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. I was seeking passion and a sense of purpose in my work.
As a PTA, I gained a new appreciation for ‘health and wellbeing’. It motivated me to keep up with physical activity. It taught me that eating healthy foods and a diversity of foods had an impact on how I felt inside. It revealed to me the downside of not taking care of my physical, mental, and emotional self. During this time, I was witnessing, up close and personal, the devastating impact diabetes had on my mom for the last 30 + years of her life.
It motivated me to start focusing on the joy of preparing and eating healthy foods, It motivated me to stay physically active. The scale become less important. Yoga helped me to remain more calm in the face of challenges. I learned that I could prevent certain lifestyle health issues and avoid having to manage my health with medications.
What I love about my work as a PTA and teaching yoga
is the chance to help clients discover their hidden wisdom.
After 13 years of clinical experience, I decided to return to
school again!!! I wanted to broaden my range of skills to
learn manual techniques and modalities to provide a
whole-person centered approach to healing.
Offering a range of modalities for healing is where I continue to
find purpose and meaning.
This is my story.
Everyone has their own story……
I look forward to hearing yours !
